Bell was founded by Frank Bell, a University of Cambridge graduate, with a love of languages and a powerful vision. Frank’s inspiration came from his time as a prisoner of war during the Second World War. In the harsh conditions of the camp, he taught his fellow prisoners Spanish and French, a simple act of defiance that quickly led to the creation of a ‘secret university’, which taught a broad range of subjects. After the war, Frank Bell returned to England. Reflecting on his experiences, he realised that the route to international co-operation and understanding lay in learning. Why This Programme?
Future Leaders Young MBA is a taster of an MBA programme at a prestigious business school.

SUL’s Great Britain Experience programme is a perfect choice for international junior students age 8+ seeking a truly British experience. It combines on-campus English lessons with action-packed daily activities and excursions outside the classroom. These provide a wealth of history, culture and interesting places to enjoy.
Music All Ways
Music is an art form in which many different skills, cultures and forms of creativity come together. SUL creates an environment where music is always present. Children will be educated to develop their singing skills, whilst at the same time being encouraged to use music as a creative outlet in their lives.
Students will have the opportunity to explore music in engaging new ways, develop musical skills, learn hands-on games and warm-ups and work collaboratively.
One Take Movie
“They did that in one take” is always an impressive statement to make about any film! Getting a scene down in a single take however, can mean everyone involved experiences a moment of perfect execution, or just pure luck, and the scene is completed on the first try.
SUL will run this exciting One Take Movie programme in 2024. SUL is proud to provide young filmmakers, ages 12 to 19, with a unique experience in the art of cinema.
Incorporating both theory and practice, the school courses will teach students how to operate equipment and work on a set while providing a clear understanding of the fundamentals of how the art of cinema works.
At the end of our course, students will have written, filmed and edited a high-quality One Take Movie type film which school will premiere on SUL’s YouTube channel.
Robotics Summer Lab
Robotics Summer Lab offers an astonishing quest to explore the wonders of robotics through this Amazing Experience.
In cooperation with the Robotics Academy, SUL has designed this combined English and Robotics summer programme to help younger students learn English while developing the core concepts of problem solving and programming.
This course is ideally suited for children who love to be creative and find their own solutions to problems.
Every day the school students will be able to build their own LEGO robots and use them to solve everyday problems and answer questions. Students will be given the opportunity of using their own creativity to improve on a robot’s basic design, all the while learning more and more advanced concepts.

Why This Programme?
It combines 28 lessons (21 hours) of general English teaching per week with a full programme of interesting activities and excursions.
Sir Laurence camp has been running since 2009, giving children and teenagers an opportunity to learn more about Cambridge University life.
The camp is located at Lucy Cavendish, a Cambridge University college, with on-campus classrooms, facilities and residential accommodation. This is an ideal centre for our 13-16 year old students who are looking for a small campus course, in the centre of Cambridge, with a taste of university life and a very personal atmosphere.
Course Information
Cambridge University Discovery Theme
Located in prestigious Cambridge University colleges, this is an opportunity to learn more about the university and traditional Cambridge student life. Your English lessons focus on a combination of communication development and themed topics on Cambridge University’s history and culture. Themed lesson topics include famous Cambridge students, sporting traditions, scientific discoveries, the university’s unique history, and a comparison of Cambridge with other elite universities around the world.
English tuition:
28 lessons/21 hours of tuition per week – 4.5 hours per day on 4 days, 3 hours on one day

This Cambridge University college campus offers very comfortable student accommodation. All students attending this programme live on campus.
Sir Laurence course residences:
- Central campus accommodation in comfortable and secure buildings

- Shared bedrooms – usually 2 Studio students of the same gender who do not speak the same language
- Some single bedrooms also available

Why This Programme?
It combines general English teaching with a full programme of interesting activities and excursions. Sir Christopher has been running for 55 years!
The camp is located at Ridley Hall and Newnham College. Newnham College is one of the 31 colleges of Cambridge University and Ridley Hall is affiliated with Cambridge University.
Sir Christopher has a capacity of up to 100 students at any one time. There is a wide range of nationalities and the ratio of staff to students here is high. The average number of students per class is 12 or 13 and the maximum class size is 16.

Activities
Oxford: Oxford is home to the UK’s oldest university,
a wide variety of impressive museums, and many shops,
restaurants, and cafes. Even though it is Cambridge’s historic
rival, we have to admit, it is a beautiful city to visit!
London: No trip to the UK would be complete without
a visit to England’s bustling capital city, packed with famous
landmarks, theatres, museums, and shops.
Stratford-Upon-Avon: Visit the birthplace of
William Shakespeare and enjoy the charms of this quaint English town. Culture vultures can also see a play at the Royal
Shakespeare Company theatre.
The Coast: The British seaside is a tourist favourite
and at Reach we think this is the perfect place for students to
relax, stroll on the beach and enjoy that classic British dish:
fish and chips on the pier.
Palaces & Castles: Britain is famous for its many
beautiful palaces and castles, offering students a great
insight into British history and culture. Previous programs
have included trips to UNESCO World Heritage site Blenheim
Palace, London’s Royal Maritime Museum and Warwick
Castle.
Theatre Trips: Where better to enjoy the dramatic
arts than in the bard’s own country? Students have the
opportunity to see Shakespeare plays in the Globe Theatre
in London or the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford upon-Avon.

TASTER Programmes
Reach Cambridge Taster courses are designed to supplement and augment your education during your time with us in Cambridge. Taster courses allow you to try a ‘taste’ of another academic subject that will sit alongside your main academic course. We also have tasters that can broaden and hone your leadership or project management skills by joining our Community Outreach or Young Leaders Taster courses. Whatever you’re craving, Reach Cambridge Taster courses can offer you an enriching addition to your Reach experience!
Most Taster courses cost £395. This covers five hours of teaching, plus excursions outside of the classroom (where relevant) and any materials you may need.
